Vivo V9 launched in India. Starting at ₹22,990.

After the launch in select Southeast Asian markets on Thursday, Vivo V9 has been launched in India today. The smartphone is to sport stunning design and excellent selfie camera. The device will be available on Amazon and as well as on Flipkart. The dedicated poster that is put up on Amazon India website also reveals that the smartphone — Vivo V9 is up for pre-orders soon now.
The Vivo V9 launch event was livestreamed on Vivo India’s YouTube and Facebook channel. You can click here to watch the livestream. The key highlights of the Vivo V9 is its dual cameras and design.

On the design front, the new Vivo V9 resembles to that of the previously launched Vivo X21. The smartphone sports a 6.3-inch edge-to-edge display with Full HD+ with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and aspect ratio of 19:9. The FullView display of the Vivo V9 comes with 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio and there’s also the iPhone X-like notch on top.

The device is powered by a 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor which is paired with Adreno 506 GPU. The smartphone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
On the camera front, the Vivo V9 comes with dual cameras on the rear panel. The cameras are placed in the same manner as seen on iPhone X. Out of the two, the primary sensor 16-megapixel, while the secondary sensor is of 5-megapixel. As for the front camera, the Vivo V9 includes a 24-megapixel selfie camera and is paired with facial recognition technology. The selfie camera also comes packed with a few features like – AI Face Beauty mode and AR stickers. Both the front and rear camera comes with f/2.0 aperture.
Vivo V9 runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS 4.0 out-of-the-box. The smartphone is backed by a 3,260mAh non-removable battery and includes several connectivity options like — 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, FM Radio, USB OTG, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The phone is launched in three colours – Blue, Black Ceramic and Gold.
