OnePlus unveils its new logo in India – Here’s how it looks, could be aligned with OnePlus 8 series

OnePlus unveils its new logo in India: Here’s how it looks, could come on OnePlus 8 series

OnePlus has a new logo from 2020 onwards and it indicates a new direction for the Shenzhen based electronics manufacturer. The logo is already live on the OnePlus website.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • OnePlus has updated its logo for 2020 and onwards
  • The new logo shares the older one’s identity but has a bolder font
  • OnePlus could use the new logo on the upcoming OnePlus 8 series phones

OnePlus does not make phones only. Last year, the company veered into the smart TV space with its OnePlus TV Q1 series and it hinted that there’s more to come from the company. Hence, after six years of its existence, the company felt the need to update its identity, especially when it’s competing in global markets with top brands in the world. That’s why if you visit the OnePlus website or any of its social media channels, you will see an updated logo. Yes, there’s a new OnePlus logo.

The new OnePlus logo isn’t vastly different from the old one but if you have a keen eye for details, then there’s a lot that has changed. The logo makes use of a new font that’s in all Caps and is bolder than before. The red colour still exists but in some of the areas, OnePlus will use a dark grey for the logo. On the whole, the new logo is refreshing but it still relates to the presence the original logo had.

The new logo is currently live on the OnePlus website in India, China and the US. However, OnePlus is yet to update the logo for the global website as well as the Australian website. There’s no joint announcement of a new product yet but we can expect this logo to adorn the new phones as well as TVs this year.

The new OnePlus logo

OnePlus is not changing who we are, but reinforcing what we stand for the true spirit of Never Settle, said Mats Hakansson, global creative director of OnePlus. We always design for our users. We feel that these changes maintain the iconic elements of our brand that are beloved by our staff and our community while injecting both excitement and balance into our visual identity.

Chances are that we could be seeing the new logo soon on the rumoured OnePlus 8 series that’s expected to launch within a few months. Existing rumours and leaks suggest that the new OnePlus 8 series is going to change a lot of things and bring up OnePlus’ game to the next level a level where the big players like Samsung and Apple have dominated for years. The OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to be the flagship model that will demonstrate the best OnePlus has to offer. Several other rumours also hint at OnePlus moving into the smartwatch space this year but there are no leaks on this front yet. You can also expect a couple of new TV models this year in the premium price bracket.

Stay tuned for more updates!
