OnePlus is soon to unveil its next flagship OnePlus 7T in India alongwith OnePlus TV
A new flagship OnePlus 7T is going to be launched by smartphone brand OnePlus in this month. OnePlus had earlier announced that it will be launching its OnePlus TV in the Indian market. It seems that both these products might be introduced together.
Going by the numerous leaks on the web, the OnePlus 7T is going to be successor of OnePlus 7 Pro. As is evident from these leaks OnePlus 7T would mostly be an updated OnePlus 7 Pro with up gradation of minor specs. The The OnePlus 7T is confirmed to get a 90Hz display. It may be possible the OnePlus 7T might get cheaper (thanks to competition and array of smartphones available in the market), compared to its predecessor OnePlus 7.
In a new interview with CNET, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau gives some interesting hints about the upcoming releases of (what we expect, anyway) the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro. Additionally, Lau also confirmed the phone in question will be cheaper than the OnePlus 7 Pro, which starts at $670 or Rs 46,799.
From this, we can assume that Lau is referring to the OnePlus 7T, which will likely be an iterative upgrade over the OnePlus 7. The original OnePlus 7 did not have a 90Hz display refresh rate, though it already was cheaper than the OnePlus 7 Pro.
“OnePlus was the first in the industry to use a QHD Plus 90Hz AMOLED screen with the ultrapremium OnePlus 7 Pro,” Lau told CNET. “The overwhelming positive feedback pushed us to bring 90Hz, which we believe will become standard on flagship phones, to our highly acclaimed premium lineup so that more people can experience the smooth scrolling display.”
What this clearly indicates that OnePlus is going on with the 90Hz screen for the cheaper OnePlus 7T as mentioned by the leaks and rumours previously. And there are high chances that the OnePlus 7T will use the same Quad HD+ Optic AMOLED panel from the OnePlus 7 Pro but will retain the small waterdrop notch on the top.
However, that wasn’t all from the OnePlus CEO. Pete Lau also suggested that OnePlus could be going ahead with the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset for the cheaper OnePlus 7T. Here’s what he had to say to CNET: “We design OnePlus devices to achieve the best fast and smooth experience on the market. Implementing the best-in-industry Qualcomm 800 series processors is a major part of achieving this high-end performance.”
It may be noted that the OnePlus 7 never saw its release in the United States, so it’s quite evident it that the OnePlus 7T might not see its launch there again. But it might change as it is not confirmed.
