Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S to launch today, could be priced around Rs 40,000
Xiaomi has been teasing the Mi Mix 2S for quite a while now. In one such teaser, Xiaomi had confirmed the Snapdragon 845 processor for the Mi Mix 2S. Alongside the already confirmed 8GB model, Mi Mix 2S is also expected to come in 6GB RAM variant as well. The smartphone is tipped to pack some next-gen hardware but may keep the design largely the same as its predecessor — Mi Mix 2. Apart from the bezel-less screen and dual rear cameras, Xiaomi is also vouching for AI capabilities for the Mi Mix 2S.
Mi Mix 2S will be Xiaomi’s first flagship phone to launch this year with the next one likely to be Mi 7 which is scheduled to launch later in 2018. Xiaomi kick-started 2018 by launching two affordable Redmi phones – Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro in India. As for the Mi Mix 2S India launch, there is no official word on the same by the company as of yet. However, we can expect the smartphone to hit the Indian stores later this year, most likely at the same time as the Mi Mix 2 was launched in India, in October last year.
Mi Mix 2S expected design, specifications
As far as the design of the device is concerned, the Mi Mix 2S as revealed by the leaked promo pictures, will not look a lot different from the Mi Mix 2, apart from a slightly bigger screen-to-body ratio. The leaked images suggest that the Mi Mix 2S will sport a similar bezel-less design with slim bezels on the top and sides and some bezel on the bottom. Mi Mix 2S to come with some camera improvements backed by AI features. Mi Mix 2S is also expected to come with several other features like — face unlock and scene-recognition. We also expect to see facial recognition technology on the Mi Mix 2S, which will apparently be capable of recognising the face from the sides and/or partially covered as well.
