As we posted earlier, Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has captured Indian premium smartphone market. The success is attributable to the successful flagship OnePlus 6. OnePlus has captured 40 percent of the premium segment in India in the second quarter of 2018, according to Hong Kong-based Counterpoint Research.
Commemorating India’s 72nd Independence Day, OnePlus has announced a host of limited period offers for its 2018 flagship.
These offers include discounts for SBI cardholders, no-cost EMIs, and exchange offers among others.
Here’s the information on the offers.
On Amazon and OnePlus offline channels, you can buy OnePlus 6 at a no-cost EMI of Rs. 5,833 per month. As also, Amazon and OnePlus e-stores are also giving an additional Rs. 2,000 discount on the exchange of old phones.
And, if you purchase the phone using SBI debit or credit card, Amazon is offering a 10% instant discount.
Note : These offers will be available for the period August 9 to August 12
The aforementioned offers will be live from August 9 to August 12 on Amazon and OnePlus online and offline stores. Moreover, if you happen to buy OnePlus 6 from OnePlus’s online or offline store, you will get 20% discount on OnePlus branded accessories as well.

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage.
The phone supports dual-SIM (Nano) cards, runs Android Oreo-based OxygenOS and packs a 3,300mAh battery with Dash Charge. OnePlus 6 starts at Rs. 34,999 for the 6GB RAM/64GB storage model.
The 8GB RAM/128GB variant costs Rs. 39,999, and the top-end variant with 8GB RAM/256GB storage is priced at Rs. 43,999.
The phone comes in four color variants – Midnight Black, Silk White, Mirror Black and Red. Also note that the availability of these color variants depends on RAM and storage configurations.
In terms of best-selling models, OnePlus 6 was the best in the premium segment followed by Samsung S9 Plus and OnePlus 5T. “The steady focus on high-end flagship smartphones and unprecedented community connect helped OnePlus earn user trust and spread brand awareness through word of mouth,” Neil Shah, Partner and Research Director( IoT, Mobile and Ecosystems), Counterpoint Research said.
It may be recalled that Samsung captured 34 percent share of the premium segment while Apple has 14 percent – its lowest ever. The premium smartphone segment (Rs 30,000 and above) grew 19 percent annually and 10 percent sequentially during the second quarter of 2018, said the report.
“The uptick in consumer demand in the premium segment was driven by increasing offers around the new launches as compared to a year ago.” – Counterpoint Research report
The report added, “This is due to the entry of new players in the segment led by Huawei (P20), Vivo (X21), Nokia HMD (Nokia 8 Sirocco) and LG (V30 Plus)”. The top three brands – Samsung, OnePlus and Apple, contributed 88 percent of the overall premium market as compared to 95 percent a quarter ago.
