Amazon is gearing up for Prime Day Sale in July 2018, May introduce Prime Wardrobe in India this year

Amazon is planning to gearing up for Prime Day Sale for 30 hours in July 2018. This is more or less on the same model which Amazon introduced the Prime Day sale last year. While that was focused solely towards offers, the company this is year is focusing on integrating its global services as well, in order to offer a better shopping experience to the Indian customers. The focus is also on converting users to Prime members this year, which will help it build a better customer loyalty. It looks like Amazon is getting ready to take on its arch competitor Walmart-Flipkart by gearing up for its 30-hour Prime Day sale. The company promises to come up with offers and discounts never-seen-before to win over customers. Amazon is expected to earn a month’s revenue in 30 hours on its Prime Day sale. Besides that, the company will be running offers from July 7 to July 15, 2018.

India’s $672-billion retail market has become the latest battleground for Walmart and Amazon after US, especially after Walmart picked up 77% stake in Flipkart for $16 billion. The Indian eCommerce market is growing at a huge length. It has recorded a growth of the 19.1 percent last year, accounting to a total of $33 billion (approximately Rs 2,24,000 crore). And it looks like both Amazon and Flipkart are fighting to get a big piece of it.

As part of Prime Day sale, Amazon will be focusing more on offering discounts and deals on its private label products and services. So customers can expect exciting deals on Amazon’s line of Kindle, Echo speakers and other cloud-based services. The company is also said to be working on offers related to smartphones, televisions, and home appliances. The company is also loading up its warehouses across the country in abundance, so that orders can be delivered the next day.

Amazon India is also likely to launch its Prime Wardrobe on Prime Day, which will give customers the option to try out clothes at home before purchasing them. This feature is already available in U.S., but could be coming to India soon. It is likely that Amazon may also focus on luggage and furniture categories. The company seems to have decreased retailer fees, in order to compete better with Flipkart, who is also said to be focusing on these categories.
