The company launches the ultra-budget Xiaomi Redmi Go smartphone in India today. The Redmi Go was launched recently in China as the first Android Go device by the company. It features a Snapdragon 425 with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera. The smartphone is launched at Rs 4,499 in India, which is mainly targeted to the lowest and the cheapest segment.
The device will run on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) and will have a few customized apps like Gmail Go, Assistant Go, Maps Go, etc will already be pre-installed for enhancing performance. Redmi Go is powered by 1.GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage, expandable up to 128GB through a microSD card.
The phone features a 5-inch HD resolution with a standard 16:9 aspect ratio. It also sports a dual microphone and bottom-facing speaker. Coming onto the camera, the Xiaomi Redmi Go features an 8MP rear camera with support for 1080p video recording while the front camera is 5MP. The phone is combined with a 3000mAh battery. It supports dual nano-SIM cards in addition to a microSD card slot which is a dedicated slot. It comes in two colors Blue and Black.
The phone will be made available by a flash sale starting 22nd March on Flipkart as well as on Mi.com at 12 PM for limited quantities. Other partner offers includes the Jio cashback vouchers worth Rs. 2,200 in MyJio application with additional 100GB data.
